Witness #7 | Kolon*
I am 25 years old. I have two daughters. My first child is four years old, and the second is one year and three months old. I married my husband on 30 September 2017. We lived as husband and wife for three years.
On 28 January 2020, I returned to the village after finding out my husband was seeing another woman. At that time, I was pregnant with my second child, whom I gave birth to on 12 August 2020. In September 2020, I filed a complaint in the Native Court, stating that my husband had left me and the children, and that he did not send money for our expenses [i.e. including child support]. I then filed for divorce.
The court ordered me to contact my husband and bring him along to the court in order to resolve our problem. However, my husband made numerous excuses as to why he could not meet to take the necessary steps in respect of the divorce and the issue of expenses.
I found out that my husband and the woman he was seeing worked together selling crafts. At the same time, he also worked at Shell in Telupid. However, l have yet to receive any money for our expenses.
